About the Practitioner
Alexander Dixon, E.A. has seven tax seasons of experience, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Saint Michael’s College as well as the esteemed Enrolled Agent designation from the Department of the Treasury – Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled Agents are authorized to practice in all 50 states and represent taxpayers before the IRS with unlimited rights.
Alex’s experience began in 2017, while in college, as an Advanced Certified Tax Preparer for a local community action agency providing tax preparation to low income and working class Vermont families. He then spent three tax seasons working at a public accounting firm, where he specialized in tax returns and tax planning for individuals, businesses, estates, trusts, and family gifting, and also was assigned to work on bookkeeping engagements and as support staff for financial audits. After leaving public accounting, Alex launched Dixon Tax & Accounting of Vermont, LLC, now rebranded as Compliance Worldwide Tax Consulting, and earned the Enrolled Agent designation.
Until 2023, Alex grew his practice while also maintaining a day job doing accounting and regulatory support for multi-million dollar self-insurance programs. In 2023, he left this vocation to pursue his own practice full-time. He takes a consulting approach to all of his engagements – all clients are provided with proactive planning considerations and he offers full service for tax, accounting, and regulatory compliance needs as they relate to individuals, small businesses, and fiduciary entities. His slate of clients includes US taxpayers who reside and do business in dozens of states as well as overseas. He manages this operation out of the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies shared office space in Burlington, VT, and his streamlined virtual office includes the use of a user-friendly secure web portal.
Alex enjoys traveling, a range of outdoor activities, his cat Charlie, and learning new accounting practices or regulatory code when taking on a unique new challenge from a tax, representation, or bookkeeping client.
